抵達孟買一個月，大致安頓好生活起居，搬進公寓、完成開戶申請、申辦網路等等，但是，初來乍到的新鮮感漸漸淡去，空虛、寂寞卻隨之而來，在這裡沒有朋友、沒有家人可以談天說地，外食口味太重並不習慣，放假無所事事，實在是受不了了!於是我便毅然決然地花了一萬盧比，買了一把吉他。(我一個月伙食費大約8-9千盧比，一萬盧比可謂不是一筆小錢了)

    春琴抄滿有意思的是，他是透過第三人稱的口吻來敘述，畢竟”鵙屋春琴傳”的撰寫人是佐助，從他眼中看到的琴女，必然是跟一般人差異很大的，敘述者試圖用一個較客觀的口吻，讓讀者了解春琴與佐助的故事。
    春琴至始至終，都不肯嫁給佐助，即使在懷孕之時，也矢口否認自己懷上佐助的孩子，我認為是她不想和佐助進入”夫妻”的關係，因為就當時的禮俗，妻子就是隸屬於丈夫的啊，這或許也是為什麼，春琴要求佐助遵守”師徒”之分的緣故，這份堅持，是來自於目盲以至於本來驕傲的性格，變得變本加厲嗎?總而言之，春琴並不想因為世俗的禮法，而屈服於佐助，當然佐助並沒有這個意思。
